Lance Stroll had been under the microscope for the past few races following poor performances compared to teammate Fernando Alonso. Saturday’s qualifying session at the Marina Bay circuit was filled with drama and excitement that were first instigated by the Canadian racing driver. With track evolution being very prominent, it was important for the drivers to push every single lap.

With qualifying being extremely close, Lance Stroll’s radio messages showcased the same. While trying to push during his last lap, he understeered into a kerb at the final corner and made contact with the tech pro barriers. This, in turn, immensely damaged the car and left Lance a bit sore from the impact. Repairing the car will also be a huge job for all the mechanics.

Aston Martin team boss Mike Krack shared his thoughts on yesterday’s incident. “The whole team are relieved that Lance was able to step out of the car after yesterday’s accident – however, he is still feeling the after-effects of such a high-impact crash. Our priority now is that he makes a full and speedy recovery,” he said. “Together, we have decided that he will sit out this evening’s race and instead focus fully on returning to the cockpit for next weekend’s Japanese Grand Prix,” he continued.

Lance Stroll’s Aston Martin had bounced back into the middle of the track

After Lance Stroll’s car came in contact with the tech pro barriers, most of the impact had been absorbed. However, the car bounced back into the middle of the track while the front right wheel was also disconnected from the car and on the circuit. It was a scary situation, but the FIA immediately brought out the Red Flag to avoid any further collisions. Lando Norris managed to avoid the car despite being right behind Stroll.

With Carlos Sainz on pole and George Russell starting second, the race is bound to be filled with drama and excitement. Red Bull’s dominant win streak could finally come to an end.
