The inaugural Grand Prix on the streets of Las Vegas is the most anticipated round on the 2023 calendar ever since its announcement. Netflix, the provider of one of the biggest boosts that F1 has received in recent times with ‘Drive to Survive’, is planning a crossover between two ‘elite’ sports, Formula 1 and Golf. An all-new ‘headlining Golf tournament is slated to be on-stream fully, and exclusively on Netflix.
As reported by Express.co.uk, Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz will be seen competing in the tournament. There will be 2 other F1 drivers accompanying the former McLaren teammates, William’s Alex Ablon and Alpine’s Pierre Gasly as the four F1 stars will be on the course in November. This crossover comes after the success of two Netflix series about the couple sports – ‘Drive to Survive’ and ‘Full-Swing’.
Meanwhile, Albon’s and Gasly’s Golfing skills are relatively unknown when compared to Norris and Sainz’s. As reflected by their participation across a range of golf courses. Lando Norris has spoken about Golf being one of his biggest passions before. It will be interesting to see how the drivers line up against the professional golfers at the tournament.

Conversely, McLaren has staged an impressive turnaround from a lackluster start to the season, becoming a formidable challenger to Red Bull in recent races. Alex Brundle, during the BBC’s Chequered Flag podcast, highlighted how McLaren’s competitive duo, Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris, could open strategic opportunities to challenge Red Bull’s dominance. These tactics, such as undercutting race leaders while defending against Max Verstappen, have the potential to disrupt Red Bull’s control.
Brundle also noted that Red Bull might need a strong second driver to counter these strategies, as McLaren appears to have grown as a cohesive unit, particularly when Perez struggles. This sets the stage for an intriguing title battle in the upcoming Formula 1 season
