Lando Norris, the McLaren F1 driver, is undoubtedly one of the best racers on the modern grid. He is seen by many in the same light as that of Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton and is a highly sought-after driver. Amidst all this, he has made it known that he has known that he has no regrets about signing a deal with his current employer.

Lando Norris has put pen to paper regarding a new multi-year deal at McLaren recently. Had he not done that, he could have been in the running to fill te vacant seat that is left by Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes for the 2025 season.

I’m very happy. I could have waited, I had the choice. I knew opportunities were potentially coming my way. I knew what opportunities I had at the time last year and coming into this year and what could have happened or what is happening over the next couple of years anyway. So no regrets from any side.

The young Brit with his comments has made it quite clear that he is very much at ease with his decision to sign a contract extension at McLaren. However, he has acknowledged that he was aware of the interest he had in him within the F1 paddock.

Lando Norris firmly believes McLaren can deliver a Championship Worthy car

While Lando Norris has made it known that he has no regrets about signing a new deal at McLaren, much of his confidence behind the Woking-based team has stemmed from the progress the team made last year. McLaren started the campaign in the lower half but made a solid recovery to end their campaign in a commendable fourth place.

The 24-year-old has the utmost faith in McLaren and while stressing the same, he further added,

I’m confident in my team, I’m confident in what we’ve been able to achieve and what we can achieve going into the future and I’m very happy with where I am.

Last year, Norris managed to end his campaign in an impressive sixth place in the Driver’s Championship. Moreover, despite a shaky start, he was able to put on board 205 points including quite a few podium finishes.

Going into the upcoming 2024 F1 season, McLaren is looking strong as proven by the recently concluded three-day F1 testing event. From next week onward, the cars will hit the track on serious business, and considering this, it will be interesting to see if Lando Norris will have a say in the world championship fight.
