The Las Vegas GP came to an end last weekend but despite this, several people have made a lot about the Las Vegas Strip characteristics. McLaren driver, Lando Norris crashed during the initial moments of the 50-lap race but he does not see a track issue as the cause of his crash.
Norris thinks that what happened to him could have happened to anyone and feels that he was just a bit unlucky. Norris ardently believes that the Las Vegas GP was a fun race and more than anything, he was a bit gutted after his incident to miss out on the fun that his fellow drivers were having.
While defending the Las Vegas F1 Circuit after the Grand Prix, he told Motorsport, that the track wasn’t predominantly to blame for the incident and the situation would’ve been different if there had been a slight change in the moment. Norris made it clear that he does not see any major reason to change the track ahead of next year’s event
Like I said, it was a combination of things. So for all of those things to happen again and to cause this is quite rare. Probably if I tried to drive everything the same now, it's not a guarantee that it would happen again. So if I was 30 centimeters to the right or to the left, maybe it would be different. If there was one less car ahead of me would have been different.
Lando Norris would try to end the 2023 campaign on a high note in Abu Dhabi
While Lando Norris has indicated that there is no need to bring changes to the Las Vegas F1 circuit, he has this week’s Abu Dhabi GP to prepare for. Because of McLaren’s horrendous outing in Las Vegas, Aston Martin has come back in the P4 Constructors Championship picture.
McLaren on the back of their incessant strong finishes during the ongoing second leg of the season, overtook Aston Martin in the standings but because of their Las Vegas outing, have opened the door for Fernando Alonso and Co. to get back into the fight for fourth place in the 2023 standings.
Time to end the season on a high. ?
