Lewis Hamilton had a really solid outing at the Sao Paulo GP but, just missed the top spot, and Toto Wolff ahead of the Abu Dhabi GP has made it known that he would not be favored in any way at the upcoming event.

Lewis Hamilton, since joining F1, has got a stellar record to his name of winning a race in every season, and the Grand Prix at the Yas Marina Circuit is going to be his last opportunity of maintaining that record.

Mercedes has looked in extremely strong form in the recent races, and Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz after the Sao Paulo GP has admitted that his team is in defense mode in comparison to the Silver Arrows.

Moreover, the Brackley-based team has a very serious chance of clinching P2 from Ferrari in the Constructors Champion, as they are only 19 points ahead going into the final round of the campaign.

However, despite all the fuss around Hamilton’s record, Wolff has blatantly made it known that the former seven-time F1 World Champion would not get any favoritism during the Abu Dhabi GP.

Toto Wolff and Lewis Hamilton have been at Mercedes for many years and the two share an extremely close bond. On the back of that bond, Wolff has indicated that the Brit does not prefer getting prioritized.

While dwelling on it, Wolff added, “Lewis doesn’t need any prioritization and it’s not what he ever would want.” 

“This race record of winning a race in every single season is less of a priority for him.”

The German has made it crystal clear that the team comes above everything for Lewis Hamilton and as far as his insanely impressive record is concerned, he does not get too fussed about it.

Wolff while dwelling on 2023 added, “It’s more that we’re getting the car back to where it can be, and we are racing for more race victories next year and hopefully for the championship.“
