Lewis Hamilton made his F1 debut McLaren in Formula 1 back in 2007. The then-22-year-old managed to surpass all expectations in his rookie season. The British driver even came close to winning the title that year. However, Hamilton recently opened up about his frustrating routine during his first-ever season in the pinnacle of motorsport.
Lewis Hamilton recalled how his life was just filled with training, racing, and nothing else. This didn’t leave space for any other aspirations that the 39-year-old had. The Briton understood the importance of balance in life after racing full-time in F1. Subsequently, the seven-time world champion claimed that he was not happy with such a hectic schedule.
When I first got into Formula 1, it was wake up, train, racing-racing-racing--racing, nothing else. There’s no space for anything else... And I found out that I was actually quite unhappy.Lewis Hamilton told GQ
Lewis Hamilton felt that a lot was missing in his life and there was so much more to him other than racing. This was baffling for the Briton as he wasn’t satisfied despite fulfilling his F1 dream. The seven-time world champion highlighted that he didn’t enjoy his life back then despite fighting for the world title in the pinnacle of motorsport.
There was so much missing, there was so much more to me. And it was crazy, because I was like: I’m in Formula 1, I reached my dream... But I was just not—it was not enjoyable.Lewis Hamilton explained
Lewis Hamilton claims he ‘manifested’ Ferrari move
Lewis Hamilton shocked the sporting world by deciding to leave Mercedes for Ferrari next year. The 39-year-old claimed that he manifested everything that he ever wanted to do in his life. When questioned further, Hamilton revealed that he had ‘unconsciously manifested’ racing with Ferrari in Formula 1.
I’ve manifested everything I’ve ever wanted to do. I do it every year. I think perhaps more unconscious manifesting from the early period of my life.Lewis Hamilton noted.
Lewis Hamilton had always dreamt of racing for Scuderia due to Maranello’s legacy in F1. Regardless, Hamilton’s current focus for the 2024 campaign was to lift Mercedes as high as possible as the 39-year-old had achieved historic success with the Silver Arrows.
But it’s always been up there for me. For now, though, I’m gonna lift Mercedes as high as I can this year.Lewis Hamilton asserted
However, the Mercedes’ issues for the 2024 campaign have been evident ever since the beginning of the season. Hamilton even claimed this year to be his worst-ever start to an F1 season. Nevertheless, the Briton would be hoping to end his journey with the Silver Arrows with a strong finish this year.
