As such, Hamilton’s home race is attended by thousands of his local supporters who come to cheer for the Mercedes driver. The 7-time world champion did not disappoint this time around as he clinched another podium finish.

The 7-time world champion struggled to battle the two McLarens of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. Eventually, Hamilton was forced to stay content with P3 after failing to overtake Norris. The 38-year-old applauded the impressive progress made by the Woking-based team. He stated, “I want to say congratulations to McLaren that is where I started and they were rapid in the high-speed sections.”

Moreover, the 38-year-old called the MCL60 a rocket ship on the team radio after the race. Hamilton mentioned, “That McLaren’s a rocketship. That speed is insane.” Hamilton remarked that there is work to do for Mercedes to outperform McLaren again. The 7-time world champion recognized the weaknesses of the W14 compared to the MCL60, including Turn 13, when Norris gained a huge gap over the Silver Arrows. Lewis Hamilton concluded, “We are competitive in low speed, but they are faster in high speed.”

The 7-time world champion mentioned that he could feel the energy from the fans in the grandstands during the race that helped propel him to secure a podium. He said, “I felt the energy and support. It’s why we got up there.”
