Lewis Hamilton gives massive hint on his Mercedes F1 future

Lewis Hamilton is arguably the biggest name in Formula 1. The British driver rewrote history in his long F1 career. As the 38-year-old broke dozens of records, be it for race wins or pole positions. However, Hamilton has been going through a rough time in F1 recently. Rumors have floated about Lewis potentially leaving the Silver Arrows or the sport altogether.
Recently, Lewis Hamilton took a trip down memory lane over the years he spent at the Mercedes F1 team. Accordingly, the 7-time world champion shed some light on what might influence his future at the team. He stated, “If I don’t feel like I’m being challenged, I’m not progressing or I’m not evolving, that is where you start thinking about your next move.” The British driver clarified that he had not felt like that so far. Lewis continued, “And I just haven’t felt that in these 10 years.”
The 38-year-old has been satisfied with the rapid evolution of Mercedes. Lewis Hamilton said, “I feel like the whole Team has been evolving, with new people, new structures being put in place, new targets being set.” Hamilton even credited the Silver Arrows for his own growth during his time at the team. He confessed, “I feel that I’ve had the right team to grow. Not only as a driver but as a man. I’ve been given the ability to be myself and been accepted by Mercedes.”

Lewis Hamilton hopes for Mercedes to bridge the gap with Red Bull
The 7-time world champion admitted that he and the Silver Arrows are not perfect. Although this pairing always tries to improve. Lewis Hamilton expressed, “We know we’re not perfect and we can always be better – that’s what we are always trying to do.” The 39-year-old acknowledged that Toto Wolff‘s team is presently struggling to match its rivals. He stated, “We don’t have a great car right now but we’re putting one foot in front of the other. We know we can get back to the front.”
Lastly, Lewis Hamilton was optimistic that Mercedes can work together to finally match Red Bull and Max Verstappen. Although the 38-year-old was cautious over the difficulty for the Silver Arrows. Hamilton concluded, “It’s going to be the hardest task we’ve faced together to get back to where we want to be and catch Red Bull. But what an accomplishment that will be!”
Thus, Lewis Hamilton is currently content with Mercedes. The 7-time world champion has admitted that the team is going through a rough time. The British driver opened up about considering leaving the sport if he doesn’t feel like he is being pushed to the limit. Although for now, it seems that Hamilton will continue the journey with Mercedes that he started in 2013.
