Lewis Hamilton had been previously offered a role i. Top Gun : Maverick. However, due to his F1 duties with Mercedes, the Brit was unable to seize the opportunity. However, all was not over as he got another chance wherein he would be one of the producers and advisors for Apple’s new F1 movie. While all of this sounds well and good, recent events in Hollywood have complicated things a bit. 

A strike that has been led by the Screen Actors Guild over pay and residuals has affected the filming of a lot of movies with some starring major celebrities. Many prominent figures such as Adam Sandler have joined the fight. Due to the tense situation in Hollywood, it has complicated filming schedules as Brad Pitt and co-star Damson Idris were unable to attend the races to take part in filming. Here is what Lewis Had to say about the whole situation.

“Fortunately for us, we’re still able to do some of the filming with the stunt crew,” Hamilton told media, including RacingNews365. “I don’t think for anybody it has been helpful, but I stand with the actors. I know what they’re fighting for and I hope they come to a resolution soon,” the seven time F1 world champion went on to state.

Filming for Apple’s F1 movie has been done during two race weekends so far

While Hollywood hotshot Brad Pitt and Damson Idris were only present at the British GP, they had a blast as the two actors got their hands on modified F2 cars. The drivers had undergone extensive training and were super stoked to drive these machines. For those two weekends, F1 had an 11th team which meant 11 garages in the pitlane where one belonged to the fictitious ’ApexGP’ team.

While Lewis Hamilton is vocal about the issues at hand, many on the grid are hoping that the situation gets resolved soon. Drivers like Carlos Sainz have been spotted previously moving with the movie stars to possibility get featured more in the movie which has been hilarious to observe. With Lewis providing all the information needed when it comes to the authenticity of the movie, it has been deemed to possibly be one of the best motorsport movies ever produced.
