Logan Sargeant’s debut stint in F1 is not going as he might have planned. As the season nears its end, he still does not have any points in the bag as he sits at the bottom of the WDC Standings. Sargeant recently reflected on his poor form as F1 will now arrive in his home country for their next race.
Amid scathing criticism, Sargeant asked for more time to settle in the championship. He believes that testing in the current car of the team is a must and is not emphasized presently as much as it was in the past. He said that when Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso entered F1, they used to have endless test runs. Sargeant ended by reaffirming his faith in Williams, saying that the team wants what is best for him.
“The ideal would be to have more tests, it is the best way to prepare. In the past, when Lewis and Fernando arrived in Formula 1, they had endless days of testing in that year’s car, something that is very different from what we have to experience today,” said Williams’ Sargeant, as per SoyMotor.
Sargeant’s best finish of the season has been P11 on three different occasions. Meanwhile, his fellow rookie Oscar Piastri has been making waves with McLaren. His sprint wins and two consecutive podiums are bound to add some extra pressure on Sargeant as time runs out for him to prove himself.

James Vowles has asked Logan Sargeant to improve his consistency
Sargeant’s race at Qatar once again ended prematurely. Due to extreme heat, the American driver was on the verge of falling ill and had to stop the car early. His sprint race during the weekend also went into shambles as he spun out of it. Williams chief James Vowles recently talked about Sargeant’s struggles, saying that he has been working on improving his consistency.

Vowles praised Sargeant’s clean record on the track in Qatar. Despite his health challenges, he was pleased with Sargeant’s performance over the weekend. Now, Sargeant faces a tough three-week stretch with back-to-back races in unfamiliar locations.
“Logan did well throughout the weekend, despite being unwell and having a weakened immune system. He’s been working on consistency, which he continued to build. Now, we’re heading into a challenging three-week stretch, with three races at new tracks. Logan needs to keep progressing session by session,” Vowles explained.
