Madrid inclined towards hosting an F1 race; sends letter of interest to Stefano Domenicali
F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali
Hosting an elite Formula 1 race is a matter of great pride and joy for any country around the world. As it appears at the moment, the Liberty Media, who hold the ownership over F1, are interested in seeing newer venues organize a Formula 1 Grand Prix so that the audience get to see a new track and the thrill of racing at an unknown place takes the anticipation for the Grands Prix up a notch. And that is the reason why many interested parties have placed their dibs bysending proposals to the F1’s CEO Stefano Domenicali clarifying their wishes to host a Grand Prix at their venue.
And keeping up with the trend, the Spanish Cabinet Minister Enrique Lopez has sent a letter of intent to Stefano Domenicali expressing his utmost interest in bringing Formula 1 home to Madrid where the authoritative body of Madrid wishes to hold a Grand Prix. Starting from the Catalan Grand Prix in MotoGP to the Barcelona Grand Prix in F1, Spain has been one of the foremost countries which attract a wide number of audience who are interested in motorsports. And to add to the excitement of those people, the F1 calendar might soon have a Madrid Grand Prix in the upcoming years.

The discussions over including some specific racing venues for the next year’s Formula 1 Championship have already started and the interested parties are hurrying to send their letters of intent to the F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali to express their wish to hold a Grand Prix at their venue. While an F1 Grand Prix already occurs in the Spanish city of Barcelona, it seems unlikely that the Stefano Domenicali would allow for Madrid to become another venue in the same country when FIA’s vision is to spread F1 as far and wide as possible by organizing Grands Prix in different countries.
