Max Verstappen admits that he was DISAPPOINTED with himself when Lando Norris took the lead at the start of British GP

Max Verstappen extended his impressive winning streak at the British Grand Prix, showcasing his mastery on the track again. Despite a brief challenge from Lando Norris, Verstappen’s DRS pass enabled him to secure Red Bull’s first victory at Silverstone in an astounding ten years. Despite commanding the race, the Dutchman was not overly impressed with his win at Silverstone.
Max Verstappen reflected on their challenging start and expressed the need to investigate its reasons. Despite difficulties, Verstappen was satisfied after securing another victory. Acknowledging the remarkable achievement of 11 consecutive wins for the team. However, he emphasized that the race was far from easy. He mentioned that compared to previous starts, today’s start was subpar.
“We had a terrible start so we need to look into why that was,” The Dutchman said. “I’m very happy that we won again, I think 11 wins in a row for the team is incredible, but it wasn’t straightforward today. I think he last few starts were a bit better, and today was not that great,” the two-time world champion argued.
Late safety car drama couldn’t stop Max Verstappen’s triumph at the British Grand Prix
Despite facing several challenges during the race, including a late Safety Car period caused by Kevin Magnussen’s engine failure. This resulted in a bunching up of the field; the outcome remained consistent with the past five races. Once again, Max Verstappen showcased his dominance as he clinched the victory, with Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton trailing behind.
In the closing laps, Verstappen consistently widened the gap between himself and Norris, ultimately crossing the finish line 3.5 seconds ahead of the McLaren driver. This remarkable victory marked his sixth consecutive grand prix win, further solidifying his position as the leader in the Drivers’ Championship with a 99-point advantage over his teammate Sergio Perez.
Despite Max Verstappen claiming the top spot at the British GP, his teammate lagged in P6, behind the McLarens and the Mercedes. Verstappen has scored the bulk of the points to place Red Bull P1 in the constructors’ championship with a 199-point lead—Mercedes trail Red Bull in the constructors’ title, followed by Aston Martin in P3.
