Max Verstappen was on song at the Miami GP as he once again from behind to beat arch rival, Charles Leclerc, at the Miami GP. The reigning world champion showed why he is the best in the world as he showed nerves of steel to fend off the championship leader and register his third win in the process. It was a roller coaster of emotions for the Dutchman but turned out pretty well in the end.
It was turning out to anything but ideal weekend for Max Verstappen, who could not participate in FP2 because of a hydraulic issue and nearly crashed at Turn 14 in FP3. He did find some pace in qualifying as he took provisional pole after in his first flying lap in Q3. But he couldn’t get his second flying underway after a mistake by him which meant that he had to start the race behind Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz.
But, Max Verstappen was in the zone from the get go getting the better off Carlos Sainz in the first corner and eventually defeating Charles Leclerc to win the first ever Miami GP. The Dutchman as always enjoyed his win with his girlfriend, Kelly Piquet, who was elated to see his boyfriend perform so well in the scorching heat of Miami.

Max Verstappen has time and again emphasized on the importance of family in his life. We saw that how much his family meant to him after the win in Abu Dhabi when he was jumping up and down and hugging his father and his girlfriend. In an interview during the time when he was trailing Lewis Hamilton in the season, he said, “We didn’t talk about F1 because I don’t need advice.”
“I know what to do in the car and I don’t have to ask anyone. Better to spend some time with the family.”
He also shared his love for his girlfriend in an Instagram post, captioning, “Happy New Year everyone. Let’s make 2021 a year to remember in many ways. Wishing you all success, love and happiness just as I found mine,” as reported by express.
Max Verstappen might be aggressive on the track, where he needs to be, but off it, he definitely knows how to appreciate and gently love his family.
