All the greats of Formula One, on the brink of domination, have been subject to the abuse and disapproval of fans all over the world. This could range from the fans simply disliking their personality, or believing that their domination is undeserved, and maybe even rendering the sport boring.

For example, Lewis Hamilton has been booed on numerous occasions. Especially after denying drivers wins at their home Grand Prix, or even just because he represented an entity that was ahead of the sport at its time. He was simply too good. It’s something all successful drivers encounter.

The case of Max Verstappen is no different. The two-time world champion is slowly establishing his unrivaled domination. He looks too good for the rest of the grid. The Red Bull driver is the man to beat, and every weekend he seems to shatter expectations with his prowess and proficiency.

Verstappen has been booed ever since his altercations on track with Hamilton back in 2021. It was when the pair competed for the title. Even after the Miami GP, Verstappen was subject to boos from fans, who wanted his teammate Sergio Perez to take the victory.

In response to the jeers, Verstappen stated“If I were driving in the back nobody would be doing anything in terms of reaction. I think it is normal when you are winning and they don’t like who is winning. It is something for me which is absolutely fine as long as I am standing on the top. To me, the most important thing is I take the trophy home and they go back to their houses and they can… have a nice evening.”

The Dutch prodigy is prioritizing his racing alone, and not external opinions in an attempt to waver his focus. He currently tops the standings with 119 points. Verstappen is once again the season’s favorite. He is fighting for his third consecutive championship and will most likely claim it.
