The 2023 Formula 1 season is coming to a close at the end of the ongoing Abu Dhabi GP weekend. While the on-track action has been making headlines, Lewis Hamilton and the Red Bull team principal, Christian Horner have been making headlines of their own for off-track shenanigans.
Christian Horner recently said that Lewis Hamilton enquired about a Red Bull seat, which the latter blatantly denied, and since then, a lot has been made about the whole saga. Max Verstappen, the reigning world champion, was asked about it and he has simply played down the prospect of Hamilton joining Red Bull.

While sharing his thoughts on the same in detail, Max Verstappen made it quite clear that, in his opinion, the prospect of Lewis Hamilton joining Red Bull is just not possible. He added that he wouldn’t mind having the Mercedes champion as a teammate.
What would it add to know? Because I didn’t know, it’s not happening. You know there’s no point to make up stories if it’s not happening. So yeah, I wouldn’t mind, it doesn’t matter anyway. I don’t want to put it now, particularly on Lewis, I mean, there are so many great drivers as well. Sometimes it just doesn’t work out like that.Verstappen said, as reported by Silverarrows.net.
Max Verstappen has dominated Sergio Perez at Red Bull
While Max Verstappen has played down the prospect of having Lewis Hamilton as his Red Bull teammate, the former has quite easily dominated his current partner, Sergio Perez. Despite the Mexican’s best efforts, he has just not been able to match the might of the prolific Dutchman.

Moreover, this year Verstappen has taken his level of dominance to a whole new level and this is also one of the reasons why Perez was under huge pressure for most part of 2023. Verstappen’s past teammates, Pierre Gasly and Alex Albon were also not able to compete against him at Red Bull.

Max Verstappen is seen as one of the best drivers to ever step foot into the world of the pinnacle of motor racing. He has gone from strength to strength with each passing year and considering this, there are very good chances that 2024 could also prove to be an extremely painful year for Perez.
