Max Verstappen disappoints Red Bull fans, he has ‘no interest’ in beating Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher’s F1 title record
Max Verstappen asserts that two world championships suffice, he is not interested in claiming seven or eight titles.

Red Bull Racing driver Max Verstappen recently expressed contentment with his two Formula One World Championship titles. He revealed he is “not interested” in winning seven or eight titles. The Dutchman has indicated that he is already satisfied with his accomplishments and is unmotivated by the thought of being the best driver in F1 history.
Max Verstappen’s statement that he is not interested in winning more titles may come as a surprise to some fans and critics, but he explained that winning more titles is not his main motivation. He stated, “No. I’m not interested in winning seven or eight titles. If you have the car to do so, then great. But even if it doesn’t [happen], I’m happy – I’m already happy, so it’s OK!”. He has no ambition of exceeding Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton‘s records.
The Dutchman also spoke about his future plans and a desire to try his hand at other forms of racing. He took inspiration from another double-world champion, Fernando Alonso. Ahead of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Verstappen said, “It’s difficult to say when you’ve never had a break, right? I will always be on the grid until the end of 2028. I’m still very young, but I always said that I also want to do other kinds of competitions, a bit like what Fernando did.”
He feels that it should be worthwhile for a driver to return to a lower ranking after previously winning or racing in the front. If there is no genuine chance of winning, it becomes increasingly difficult to find an incentive to continuously travel around the world, missing out on time with loved ones and other activities.
Max Verstappen links his F1 future to his final season drive, as his motivation wanes with each year
Verstappen, who is only 25 years old, has already won two World Championships and has established himself as a strong force in Formula One. However, his latest statements indicate that he is losing motivation. There are fears that he may contemplate retiring from the sport entirely.
When asked about his future beyond the contract, which keeps him until 2028 with the Milton Keynes outfit, He said, “It depends how competitive the car is in that last season as well, and maybe also it depends on the opportunities you have around Formula 1, or what you’re already doing outside of Formula 1 at the time, so at the moment it’s a bit difficult to imagine what’s going to happen past 2028.”
Verstappen’s team principal, Christian Horner, has also commented on his future in F1. He suggested that Verstappen may not have the longevity of Fernando Alonso, who is still racing in Formula 1 at the age of 41. Horner said, “I think Fernando is a unique character, and I think he’s got incredible talent and longevity. I don’t think that’s something that necessarily comes to everybody.” The 25-year-old is currently 15 points ahead of his teammate, Sergio Perez.
