The 2023 Formula 1 season is underway, and Red Bull have emerged as the most dominant team. Max Verstappen won in Bahrain and Australia, while his teammate Sergio Perez conquered the Jeddah circuit. It is all going well for the team at the moment. They have “Super Max” and “The Minister of Defence” at their service. And most importantly, the RB19 is everything they would have hoped for.

Verstappen overtook his former rival, Lewis Hamilton, on several occasions. And he did it with such ease. While things are going well for Red Bull, Mercedes has started its new season on the back foot. They were outclassed by Aston Martin as well. Hamilton was amazed by Red Bull’s pace. He stated, “I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a fast car.” Hamilton referred to the RB19. The Mercedes champion believes they have “serious speed.”

Max Verstappen heard Hamilton’s statement and objected to it, he spoke to the Dutch media and RacingNews365 about this matter. “I think if you look at the statistics, those statements are not correct. But we also have a very good car! There is of course nothing wrong with that. Yet we are not as dominant as Mercedes has shown in some years.”

Max Verstappen does not think Red Bull is as dominant as Mercedes was in previous years. Mercedes’ dominance began in 2014 after a change in the engine regulations. They cracked the code with an efficient aerodynamic package. Their engine was top-class. The team has won seven driver’s titles and eight constructors’ titles since then. The two-time world champion referred to that era.

Verstappen did not pay attention to Hamilton’s comments. “I don’t spend much time with that, but it won’t help you either. Whatever we have done in the eight years that Mercedes is so dominant… We also tried to close the gap, that’s all you can do!”. Red Bull has done a good job and provided the drivers with a good package. They are the season’s favorites.

The Milton Keynes team will bring further upgrades over the course of the season. They would have a great advantage over the other teams on the grid. Max Verstappen has extended his lead in the 2023 world championship after the Australian GP. He is 15 points ahead of teammate Sergio Perez. If Verstappen wins this season, he will join Hamilton and 4 other drivers to have 3 consecutive championships in the history of F1.
