“My two worlds collide–F1 x MMA”: Fans cheer on as Daniel Ricciardo turns up the heat in a “fight” with Charles ‘DoBronx’ Oliveira

There are only two races left in the roster, but that is not stopping McLaren from presenting their fans with all the Daniel Ricciardo content they asked for, before the Australian parts ways with the papaya team. As it is now know to every fan in the F1 community, the Honey Badger’s contract was prematurely terminated by McLaren because of lack of results, and he is going to be replaced by Oscar Piastri in the upcoming season.

While his career in F1 hangs in the balance, fans are having a hard time accepting that it might be a while before they get to see Daniel Ricciardo regularly in the F1 paddocks. Thus, they have been asking for some more videos, interviews, and photos of Daniel during these last couple of race weekends–and McLaren has now answered their demands.

During the week leading up to the Sao Paolo Grand Prix in Brazil, McLaren decided to shoot a collaboration between Daniel Ricciardo and MMA’s Charles ‘DoBronx’ Oliveira, who is a native of the South American country. The 33-year-old former UFC Lightweight Champion went for a “cage fight” with Ricciardo ahead of the race, and fans have reacted to the photos with all sorts of hilarious comments.

In other news, Daniel Ricciardo’s options to remain in Formula 1 seem quite limited as all the teams have already selected their racers for the next season, barring Haas. While Haas’ decision is going to be made public after the Brazil GP, the two main contenders for their seat are Nico Hulkenberg and Mick Schumacher. So, what lies ahead of Daniel Ricciardo is unclear, but according to some reports, a reserve driver role might be waiting for him at Mercedes or Red Bull.
