‘Not better at racing,’ Charles Leclerc mocks Carlos Sainz for claiming he’s ‘better at every sport’
In a hilarious exchange, Charles Leclerc roasted his teammate, Carlos Sainz for claiming that he's 'better at every sport'.

Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc (L) and Carlos Sainz (R)
In terms of Formula 1 teammates, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz seem to have a good, relatively strain-free relationship. This is certainly a good sign for Ferrari, as teammates don’t always get along. But even if they don’t, they would need to work together to ensure that the team does well and that there are no unnecessary hiccups. Alain Prost-Ayrton Senna and Nico Rosberg-Lewis Hamilton are very notable examples of teammates having…issues.
But even Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon, from last year, are good examples of this. The two tussled and came together during the 2022 Sao Paulo GP sprint, which derailed both of their (sprint) races. Obviously, that wasn’t good for the team either. From what it seems, both Ferrari drivers are able to work together well, and they haven’t had a lot of problems on track either – not ones that they blame each other for, at least.
As Ferrari want to get back to the top again after their dismal start, this relationship would be important. Not only in development but even on track. But if there comes a time when both drivers are competing for the championship – it will surely be tested. But it’s encouraging that the two seem to get along. Only time will tell how this will develop if both are fighting each other for the world title, but for now, it’s all good. This, of course, means there is room for ‘friendly’ digs at each other.
Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz were taking part in a ‘drawing challenge’

In a video going viral on social media, Carlos Sainz is asked if there is ‘any other sport’ that he’s beaten Charles Leclerc at apart from golf and chess. The Spaniard responds: “Golf, chess, padel, tennis…Say any sport, [and] I’m better.” the Monegasque’s reply to this, was simple, but effective – and brutal. He replied, laughing: “Not racing.” as Sainz went back to drawing.
The original video is from Sky Sports, but depending on your location, it may be blocked in your country. It involves them undertaking a ‘drawing challenge’, where they draw each other. Scuderia Ferrari’s official Twitter account posted an image of the two portraits, captioned: “Hang them in the Louvre.” Certainly, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
A segment from the video involves Sainz leaning down on the couch, in a way that may remind people of a famous scene from the movie ‘Titanic’. Leclerc says to him while laughing: “Take off your clothes, Carlos.” and later adds: “No, it’s only your face, it’s only your face.” When the Monegasque had finished with the portrait, his teammate felt it resembled his compatriot and two-time world champion, Fernando Alonso.
When it’s Sainz’s turn, Leclerc sees the drawing, and says jokingly: “If he is winning, then I am not racing on Sunday!” It is up to you to judge the artistic merits of the portraits and decide which one is better. As for the racing situation, in terms of head-to-head championship finishing positions – both are currently 1-1. This year, Sainz has more points, but has generally struggled more with the car. It’ll be interesting to see how this develops.
