Seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton has mentioned time and time again that he is on a mission to increase inclusivity in motorsports by his activism and philanthropy. The Briton has given account of the various times when he was subjected to discrimination due to his ethnicity as he is a Black racer in a white-dominated sport. And he does not want any budding racer to come across such experiences.
In an attempt to promote participation in motorsports amongst interested youngsters, Lewis Hamilton has established several funds, and he has also started the Lewis Hamilton Foundation. Thus, the contributions of the 37-year-old go way beyond simply winning races and breaking records–he wants to welcome the future of Formula 1 by nurturing young minds. And he gave proof of that as he walked into a meeting of some karting fans to share some words of advice with them.
The children also had a fun session with Lewis as they raced some remote-controlled cars together. Fans gushed over the kind gesture that Lewis Hamilton showed as he greeted the youngsters and inspired them to get into racing.
