Oliver Bearman made his debut at Saudi Arabian GP, he was there to replace Carlos Sainz due to his appendicitis surgery. Berman was called in FP3 by Ferrari where he tested out the SF24. In Qualifying he was only able to qualify P11, missing a birth in Q3 by just 0.036 seconds.

Bearman not only stopped here, the British driver made a brilliant move on Yuki Tsunoda during the race. During the 45th lap, Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton were reducing the gap to Bearman, but the young lad without any mistake bought Ferrari home ahead of them.

Moreover, the 18-year-old, after the race, received some encouraging words for the former seven-time world champion.

I did get a lot of congratulations and also good luck messages before the race. My favourite one was from Sebastian Vettel. I’m a huge fan of his since the early days. I was, up until he retired, always rooting for Seb, so to get a message from him was really special. To know that he was kind of watching put a bit of pressure on, but it was a nice pressure. And I got a hug from Lewis as well after the race. That was nice that he recognised the race for me. That was a proud moment for myself.

Oliver Bearman told RacingNews365

Bearman admitted he received numerous congratulations messages for his Saudi Arabia exploits. His idol, Sebastian Vettel, also sent him a heartwarming text. The former acknowledged that it meant something special to him. He even shed light on the fact that Hamilton gave him a hug, even though he had not expected that he would recognize his face.

However, there is a lot of suspicion created by fans that they could see Bearman at next week’s Melbourne GP. Moreover, it would be unlikely that Carlos Sainz would be better by the time the Australian GP comes around. Bearman’s performance in SF 24 has impressed all drivers.

The young Brit’s future will totally depend upon his F2 career as most of the drivers who come in F1 are picked from F2. It would be interesting to see where Bearman will get his permanent seat. Being only 18 years of age makes Bearman a special talent in the sport.
