The McLaren has delivered exceptional pace and results in the past six races. The two drivers, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, have juiced every ounce of performance from the MCL60 and are seriously challenging the Red Bulls to be at the front of the pack.

The updates that were introduced to the car after the mid-season break have been proved to be in the favour of McLaren. In the recent Brazilian GP, Lando Norris almost overtook the race leader, Max Verstappen for the first spot. Meanwhile, Piastri had a difficult time in the race and finished in P14.

I always had belief in the team that if we had a car capable of fighting at the front and we would be ready to do it. I think we’ve been able to show that in the second half of the year. The development and progress from the car side of things in particular has been incredible.

Piastri said, as reported by racingnews365.com.

The Australian also claimed that the team was getting more and more comfortable fighting at the front of the pack, especially with the Red Bulls. The 22-year-old also exclaimed how the Red Bulls are their competitors rather than just being referred to as the top team by McLaren.

Now we're slowly getting more and more comfortable with being at the front. Instead of referring to some of the other teams as the top teams, they are our competitors now.

Lando Norris has displayed optimism over the developments as well

The Briton counterpart of Piastri, Lando Norris had also showcased his excitement over the newfound performance of the team. Norris claimed that the team took massive steps and the fact of fighting the Red Bulls impressed him more. The 23-year-old was not hesitant in complimenting Red Bull for their efforts either.

Norris reflected back on the developing days at the beginning of the season at Bahrain where the team faced a tough challenge in scoring amazing results. He talked about how the team had come a long way and still had plenty of things upcoming for the Woking-based team. The Briton claimed that he was optimistic about the changes for the next season.

With just two more races left in the calendar, both the young drivers Piastri and Norris in McLaren have shown massive improvements. The team has also steered clear of any unnecessary end-game competition for the constructors cup and drivers championship. The team as well as the drivers hold a comfortable spot on the tables.
