Peter Windsor does not hold back praise for Max Verstappen, claims Red Bull is the best team in history of F1
Peter Windsor has said that the credits for Max Verstappen's dominance go to Red Bull's consistency.
Red Bull have gone full force this year after already scoring two World Championships with Max Verstappen in 2021 and 2022. As the Dutch lion eyes a Formula One title hat-trick, there is no denying the massive dominance that Verstappen has established against all his heavyweight rivals. The rise to this stardom was not easy for the now 25-year-old. During his first year going up against Lewis Hamilton for the 2021 title, he had to fight a nerve-wracking battle against the seven-time World Champion.
After winning the Abu Dhabi GP over Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen had an easy run for his second World title. And now, in 2023, out of the 14 races that have been held, Max Verstappen has won 12 of the Grands Prix. After the Italian Grand Prix, he broke Sebastian Vettel’s longstanding record of winning nine F1 races in a row. And thanks to these achievements, many fans believe that Max’s name will go down in history as an unrivalled Champion.
Another important F1 personnel who believes in Max Verstappen’s supremacy is none other than former manager Peter Windsor. While speaking on his YouTube channel, he applauded Max’s support system, saying, “He has a very complete team behind him that supports him 100 percent and believes in him. The team will always help him win the next race. It has proven to be the best team in the history of Formula 1.“
Toto Wolff has claimed he will not wage war to alter rules to end Red Bull dominance
Red Bull’s dominance has been a cause for concern for all the rival teams. But Toto Wolff does not want to go the same way as many others are going by urging the FIA to end Red Bull’s reign. He said, “As a team principal, I don’t want to jump on a bandwagon that others have done in the past of saying we need to change the regulations because we can’t continue with the dominance of a team.”
At a time when Toto Wolff’s Mercedes was reigning supreme in Formula One, RBR Team Boss Christian Horner and many others urged the FIA to change the rules. And then in 2022, when the new era of hybrid racing was ushered in, Mercedes was beaten by Red Bull. Now it remains to be seen if Mercedes can surpass Red Bull in the upcoming season or if Max Verstappen equals Sebastian Vettel’s number of F1 title wins by scoring a Championship in 2024.
