Report: Ferrari to take huge GAMBLE to avoid grid penalty in Montreal

Ferrari
For Scuderia Ferrari, the engine situation of the Maranello outfit seems to be in a troublesome position after the awful end to Charles Leclerc’s Azerbaijan Grand Prix run last week, paired with Carlos Sainz’s retirement from the race. As Charles Leclerc is Ferrari’s best bet for the Drivers’ Championship position, it is a given fact that Ferrari will go all out to provide him with a reliable car that he can finish his races with, and for that, the team will be rolling out some major changes to Leclerc’s Ferrari F1-75.
In order to make the changes that Ferrari wants to give to Charles Leclerc‘s car, it is obvious that the racer will have to incur some grid penalty in one of the upcoming races. As per the reports, the Scuderia is considering bringing a new power unit Montreal. But there is also a chance that Ferrari will receive their first supercharger component so that they can avoid a penalty.
As Ferrari’s situation stands, a grid penalty would prove costly for the team

When the 2022 Formula 1 season kicked off in Bahrain, Ferrari proved themselves to be the team to watch out for with their skilled racers and their near-perfect car–the F1-75. But at this point of the Championship, the Scuderia have fallen back in the ranks, to the Tifosis’ disappointment. To correct the flaws that they have noticed in Leclerc’s car, they will have to suffer a grid penalty that can be really costly for them since they are already losing to Red Bull by a wide margin.
In the upcoming months, there are many races that the Ferrari must perform well in, and for that reason, they cannot afford to overlook the engine failure that happened in last week’s Azerbaijan GP. Ferrari’s concerns lie in the fact that the failure occured in the part of the engine that is produced by an external supplier, and hence they will have to investigate on it further.
Taking out an old supercharger component at this time can help Ferrari avoid a grid penalty, and it would also help Ferrari improve their reliability issues.
