Susie Wolff speaks out about ‘feeling deeply insulted’ by allegations regarding her conflict of interest with FOM

All the discussions in the world of Formula 1 are going on about the numerous allegations in the name of Toto Wolff and Susie Wolff which started ever since Business F1 published their incendiary report. The magazine claimed that the Wolffs have had ears on the inside of the Formula One Management which have given them exclusive information that they were never supposed to get.

As the allegations have festered, online forums have become filled with discussions on the topic of whether Toto Wolff really did know about the topics being talked about in the Formula One Management headquarters. Even though the rival team members did not voice their protests as many expected them to, the FIA released a statement announcing their Compliance department would conduct an investigation into this matter.

Susie Wolff has also been placed under investigation since she is currently an employee under FOM as the Head of the F1 Academy. Hence, if she is privy to insider information regarding the proceedings of the FOM, she has essentially gotten a conflict of interest with them. But the Scottish former racer has denied all these allegations in her own statement.

I am deeply insulted but sadly unsurprised by the public allegations that have been made this evening. In the strongest possible terms, I reject these allegations.
Susie Wolff said in her statement on Instagram.

Susie Wolff blames misogyny for the FIA putting her up for internal investigation

Susie Wolff has been hailed as one of the most prolific female racers who has even raced against F1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton in the junior categories. Now, she has taken a step back from competitive racing but is involved in the world of motorsports in several administrative roles. She is the Head of the F1 Academy series which was initiated by the FIA exclusively for female racers.

But now, Wolff has been the talk of the F1 town for all the wrong seasons as the FIA have placed her under investigation. She called upon the misogyny she has encountered in her racing career as a reason why such allegations have been put up against her.

It is disheartening that my integrity is being called into question in such a manner, especially when it seems to be rooted in intimidatory and misogynistic behaviour, and focused on my marital status rather than my abilities.

On the other hand, Mercedes have come out with their own statement to shun the allegations against their Team Boss Toto Wolff. They claimed the FIA have not notified the team at all before publicly announcing that Toto is under investigation by the Compliance department. They also explicitly insinuated that the team denies all allegations that have been placed against Toto.
