The 2023 British Grand Prix was an absolute spectacle and Brad Pitt’s involvement made it even better. Apple is making a Formula 1 movie starring the Hollywood hotshot and Lewis Hamilton has taken up an advisory role to help with the movie’s accuracy. Joseph Kosinski, the same person who directed Top Gun will be working on making the movie making it a true spectacle in the works.

In a collaboration with Formula 1, the whole paddock was turned into a live set to film the movie. For the race, Brad Pitt got a whole new garage for his “team” Apex GP. The garage was kitted with all the authentic features that can be seen in an actual F1 garage. The name of the movie is “Apex” and where Brad Pitt will star as Sonny Hayes who’s a veteran driver coming to race and mentor Damson Idris who is the young gun in the team.

In an interview with Sky Sports F1, Brad Pitt shared his excitement about the progress of the movie so far. “I’m a little giddy right now, I’ve got to say,” Pitt told Brundle. “And it’s just great to be here, man. We’re just having such a laugh, such a laugh. It’s the best time of my life,” he said. “All the teams have opened their doors for us, the FIA, Mohammad [Ben Sulayem] has been really helpful. And F1 Stefano [Domenicali], everyone has just been really, really amazing, that we can do this. And it’s going to be really good,” he continued.

Brad Pitt confessed to Martin Brundle that he had no prior experience racing cars before filming the movie. “More bikes, I spent the last 20 years on bikes on track. That helped a lot,” he said. However, his training program started a while ago and the progress seems to be going great so far. The actors will be driving modified F2 spec cars that have been developed with the help of Mercedes and Carlin Racing.

The British Grand Prix was a straight up hit. McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri went on to absolutely stun the crowd as they finished P2 and P4 respectively. Max Verstappen went on to win yet another grand prix at Silverstone and sent the grandstands howling. There will me many more occasions where the movie team will be filming in the F1 paddock throughout the season.
