Fernando Alonso

Fernando Alonso has had a lucrative career in Formula 1. Having won 2 world championships back in 2005 and 2006, the driver is still driving and gunning for a third title even at 41 years of age which is truly commendable. Many drivers think that they can go on until their physical abilities are no more. However, that isn’t the case for the Spanish lord of F1.

Even at this age, Fernando Alonso has managed to give a tough competition to many others who are younger and statistically better than him. Age is never been a factor to stop the Spanish driver. Whenever a team signs a driver for next season, they officially become a part of the team at the stroke of midnight during new years. According to the contract, that is when the new year starts and the deal becomes applicable.

This has always been the norm in F1. With multiple transfers taking place during the off season, every one of them have become official as the new year begins. Oscar Piastri moves to McLaren while Nyck De Vries becomes an AlphaTauri driver. Similarly, Fernando Alonso’s replacement driver, Pierre Gasly has also officially become an Alpine pilot.
