As teams move closer to the latest Miami GP in America, Mercedes team Principal Toto Wolff expresses his concerns about the track.

This week, Formula 1 is ready to host the first ever Miami Grand Prix in the United States. The circuit is 5.4 kilometers long, and the race would be 57 laps long. It is situated around the Hard Rock Stadium, giving fans an immense blow of energy and excitement. The teams and drivers are carrying the same energy about racing in Miami for the first time ever, as visible on the social media accounts of F1 and other teams.

Although the teams are ready for the race, Mercedes’s Team Principal Toto Wolff has a few concerns regarding the circuit and the race.

Mercedes have had a particularly poor start to the year, which has come as a surprise to everyone, the fans, the team, and the drivers themselves. Conditions are so bad that Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time World Champion who competed with Max Verstappen last season, became the backmarker for Max Verstappen during the Emilia Romagna GP, in which he finished P13, and his teammate P4.

Although he expressed his concerns, Toto Wolff looks up to improvements in the cars for the approaching Miami GP.

Wolff stated to Formula 1 that “Miami is an exciting new challenge and a complete step into the unknown,”

It is obvious that the entire team is looking for better results and upgrades on the new track. It is also essential to note that the track has 2 very long straights, giving teams like Red Bull and Mercedes a good chance to cover up on their rivals on the tracks, and also overtake them.

Both the straights also have DRS zones, giving a good opportunity for an overtake. As we saw in the Saudi Arabian GP, Mercedes and Red Bull are relatively faster on straights than other cars, and it gives Lewis a major advantage. But right before the straights, there are confusing chicanes and corners resembling the ones in the Monaco GP, which can pretty much change the game for teams.

The DRS detection zones are right after the squeezing chicanes, which would make it a gamble for the cars to actually catch up on DRS.

“The track looks demanding, with a real mix of low and high-speed corners, and it’s set to be a spectacular showcase for the sport to our growing US fanbase,” said Wolff.

The race is set this weekend, with the US fans boosting with enthusiasm. As we move into the weekend, Mercedes stand 3rd in the constructors’ championship, with Lewis and Russell in 7th and 4th, respectively.
