As the Qualifying Session for the much-awaited French Grand Prix finally got underway at the Circuit Paul Ricard on Saturday, fans were blown away by the Ferrari duo of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz. After a long dry season of unfortunate DNFs and missed opportunities, the Scuderia finally seems to have hit their purple patch with back-to-back pole positions and race wins in Britain and Austria, and if luck sides with them, then France too.

The Qualifying Session saw Carlos Sainz put away everyone’s doubts about his allegiance to Ferrari as he helped Charles Leclerc immensely in the Monegasque’s fight against his title rival Max Verstappen for the pole position. Fans applauded the Spaniard for his teamwork and Charles Leclerc himself acknowledged Sainz saying, “It was an amazing teamwork, I want to thank Carlos. Without him, it would have been a much closer fight.”

With the pole position in Paul Ricard, Charles Leclerc has successfully scored his sixteenth career pole and his seventh pole in this season of F1 2022. But instead of calling him the hero who saved the day for Ferrari, fans have lauded Carlos Sainz for the job as he was instrumental in getting his teammate the much-coveted-for pole position for the French Grand Prix.

Carlos Sainz, who has got a penalty for changing his engine parts and will be starting from the back of the grid in the Main Race at Circuit Paul Ricard tomorrow, did get into Q3 only to help his teammate with slip stream in the long straights. This helped Charles Leclerc get an upper hand on Max Verstappen as Ferrari had noted that Verstappen’s car was faster on the long straights.

Here are what the Twitterati are saying about Carlos Sainz and his teamwork:

In fact, Ferrari’s strategy even won over some Red Bull fans who took to Twitter to applaud the Italian outfit for their brilliant teamwork.
