Tifosis take a bow as Max Verstappen’s career wins outnumber Ferrari’s since Monza 2010

Max Verstappen

When Max Verstappen was only a little over seventeen years of age, he went on to become the youngest driver ever to participate in an F1 race as he filled in for Toro Rosso’s Jean-Éric Vergne in 2015. Ever since that time, all the personnel at the F1 paddocks have witnessed the Dutchman’s phenomenal rise in the sport as he attempted to go up against seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton during the 2021 F1 World Championship. In the end, after a tremendous showdown in Abu Dhabi, the then-23-year-old managed to bag his first-ever World title, and even now, he has not shown any signs of slowing down.

With such an amazing career record, Verstappen has achieved a lot in his few years as a Formula 1 driver. And if all the F1 pundits are to be believed, then the young Red Bull recruit has a lot more to aim for in the future. After his last week’s marvellous victory at the Monza Grand Prix in Ferrari’s backyard, he successfully took his career race win count to a whopping 31, while the Scuderia Ferrari team has only won 30 races ever since their entry in the 2010 Monza Grand Prix.

Such a staggering statistical detail was shared on Twitter by one of the fans and the post has gained traction over time. Now, many social media users have chipped in with their opinion on how Max Verstappen has exceeded all expectations regarding his performance, while Ferrari’s results have somewhat dropped ever since Kimi Raikkonen won them their last World Championship in 2007.

It is no news that Ferrari is the oldest and most successful team in Formula 1, but the legacy of the Maranello outfit has somewhat diminished in the last decade in this sport. While the Italian team has had sparks of excellent performances from their drivers, none of their recruits have managed to bag the World Championship ever since Raikkonen’s victory in 2007.

While Ferrari has all but disappointed the Tifosis with their sling of near-misses at winning the World Championship, Red Bull driver Max Verstappen has surprised all with how he has evolved as a Formula 1 racer. The 24-year-old has 31 race wins to his name, with 11 wins, this year alone. As opposed to this, Ferrari has got 30 wins since Monza 2010, with 4 race victories in 2022.
