Toto Wolff breaks silence on FIA dropping investigation on alleged document leak, demands ‘full transparency’

The entire week following the end of the 2023 Formula 1 season has been anything but peaceful even though the winter break is underway. Everyone in F1 town has been riled up about a certain claim made by the Business F1 magazine where Toto Wolff and Susie Wolff were alleged to have insider information that only the Formula One Management have access to. This claim incriminates the Wolffs since they are both employees under FOM and should not have any ‘conflict of interests’ with the parent body of F1.

As the rumors spread further, the FIA were brought into the picture as they released a quick statement announcing that their Compliance Department will investigate into the Wolffs. This was met with a vehement statement from Mercedes where the team claimed they had received no notice from the FIA regarding such an investigation. And Susie Wolff fired at the rule-making body of Formula 1 by claiming that such complaints against her are rooted in deep misogyny.

Meanwhile, the rival teams of Mercedes came together to release the exact same statement denying any claims that they had complained to the FIA against Toto Wolff. But all this while, Toto Wolff only provided radio silence regarding the investigation. And when FIA suddenly dropped the case and declared the Wolffs clear of any charges, Toto finally broke silence to address the matter.

Susie Wolff demands answers from the FIA even though they drop allegations

Scottish former F1 racer Susie Wolff has always been a beacon for female racers as she has revolutionized Formula 1 with her support for women participants in the pinnacle of motorsports. As a racer, she has gone up against Lewis Hamilton in the junior categories too. But she suddenly got embroiled in allegations that claim she had insider information on the FOM’s discussions.

Susie Wolff denied all the complaints against her and even charged at the ones who made them. She claims these were rooted in misogyny. But when the FIA suddenly dropped the investigations, Susie Wolff was still not satisfied. She released another statement demanding answers as to who put up the allegations against her in the first place.

With Toto Wolff claiming to have legal recourse for finding out more about the allegations and Susie Wolff demanding answers, it is a given fact that the FIA-Wolff drama will not end anytime soon. But Lewis Hamilton will represent Mercedes at the FIA Prize Giving Gala later this evening even though he skipped the event in 2021 despite getting the second place in the World Drivers’ Championship.
