Red Bull carried out one of the most dominant performances in the history of Formula 1 courtesy of Max Verstappen. Throughout the season, Milton Keynes maintained its performance level untouched and eliminated competition from other teams early on. Hence, Toto Wolff believes that a similar performance for Red Bull was in the works already.

While all the other teams on the grid continue development and testing for the following season, Toto Wolff insisted that Red Bull would have already stopped developing the RB-19 early on in 2023 to focus on this year’s challenger. In addition to this, the Austrian claimed that the British team would be very strong in the coming season with the RB-20.

I have no doubt that they have stopped the development of the current car early and they will be very strong next season.
Wolff said, as reported by racingnews365.com.

However, even the 51-year-old did not deny his wishes to have a fair shot at winning the championship in the next season, unlike this time. Wolff explained that the Brackley would push very hard and give it all to partake in racing at the front of the grid during the races and provide the fans with some racing actions.

We want to give it everything to have a fair shot, But we are going to give it all to push very hard and try to be part of the nice racing at the front.

Toto Wolff pondered over his biggest mistake in Formula 1

There have been some moments of uncertainty and disbelief for the Austrian boss in his long career in F1. Toto Wolff repeatedly pointed out a single mistake in his career on multiple occasions. The ‘zero-pod’ design for the Mercedes car back in 2022 proved to offer minimal benefits in real-time, as the W13 did not yield any significant results.

However, despite the slump in 2022 and the unrewarding performance from the zero-pod design, Mercedes alongside Wolff decided to stick with the older concept even for the 2023 season. As a result, Brackley scrapped the outdated vehicle design during the Monaco GP, after which the team’s performance improved exponentially.

The W15 for the following season has been massively raved by the boss alongside his crew at Mercedes. Lewis Hamilton has been vocal about ambitions for the 2024 F1 season. Hence, the team continues development over the winter break in an attempt to seriously contend for the championship.
