Mercedes Boss Toto Wolff makes surprise switch in career, takes up teaching role at Harvard
Toto Wolff has taken up a role as the guest lecturer at the Harvard Business School.

The best way to learn about business is if you are taught by the moguls who have cracked the code to making money. Going by this view, there is noone who knows about businesses better than Mercedes co-owner, CEO, and Team Principal Toto Wolff. The billionaire investor has a 33% stake in one of the biggest teams in Formula 1 at the moment, and he even holds some shares in Aston Martin Lagonda Global Holdings as well as BRR Rallye Racing–ome of the biggest rally parts dealers in Europe.
Owing to the long list of achievements by Toto Wolff, most of the fans would think the Austrian was born into this world. But surprisingly, the 51-year-old had started with a humble background. He was born in Vienna, and his father, who suffered from brain cancer, passed away when Toto was only a teenager. From there, he went into racing, and studied Economics at the Vienna University. Later, when he did not find his calling there, he decided to start his own business and now he has a net worth of 1B USD, according to a Forbes 2023 report.
Earlier, Toto Wolff had been seen at a meet-and-greet with the Harvard Business School student. HBS Professor Anita Elberse is Toto’s collaborator, and she has prepared a case study on the Mercedes team. Toto Wolff had discussed the case study during his meet-and-greet with the students. And now, Toto has been appointed as an Executive Fellow at the Harvard Business School, where he will collaborate with Prof. Elberse as a guest lecturer.
Toto Wolff expresses his gratitude for being appointed the guest lecturer at Harvard Business School

As he has seen the ups and downs of life, and has sailed through them successfully, Toto Wolff is the true definition of a successful businessman and an investor. Thus, he was called in by the Harvard Business School last year to deliver a lecture to their students on the secret to succeed in F1. Now, he will be sharing the role of a guest lecturer with Professor Anita Elberse.
Speaking on this new job, Wolff has said, “I feel very honored and privileged to continue working with the incredibly bright young minds at Harvard. Whenever I step on campus, I am inspired by the students’ curiosity and ambition, and I leave energized by the special learning environment they create together with the brilliant faculty.”
In other news, Toto Wolff’s time in F1 is not going well since Mercedes are now below Aston Martin in the Championship Standings. Even though Lewis Hamilton has tried his best to bring home a podium win at the Australian GP, the team is currently struggling to hold on to their top 3 spot. Now, it remains to be seen if Mercedes can improve their results at the Miami GP next week or if Ferrari get into the top 3, usurping Toto Wolff’s team from their position.
