Toto Wolff REFUSES to rule out the possibility of Max Verstappen ditching Red Bull for Mercedes after meeting with Jos Verstappen at Bahrain GP
The 52-year-old is left in a tough position to fill the void left by Lewis Hamilton, who will be leaving the team next year.

Max Verstappen won the inaugural race of the season with a commanding lead over the other drivers. Red Bull family and the Dutchman have a history of more than a decade together. Yet, with the recent internal tussles going on in the team, Jos Verstappen was spotted with Toto Wolff at the Bahrain GP. Now, the Austrian has commented on the speculations between him and the reigning champion.
The reigning champions seem stuck in an internal power struggle with questions looming around who will stay as the team principal at Milton Keynes. However, this instability in the team can lure Verstappen to join another squad as soon as the next season. Following the race, Verstappen’s father and Wolff seemed to be involved in a conversation to bring the Flying Dutchman to Brackley.
On being asked whether Verstappen could join the Silver Arrows, Wolff stated, as reported by Express, “Everything is possible.”
The Austrian seemed optimistic after he chatted with the 51-year-old. Following this, the possibility that Verstappen could join the team as soon as 2025 is on the table currently. Moreover, the 26-year-old is currently contracted with the Austrian outfit until 2028, but Helmut Marko had revealed earlier that he has a breakaway clause and could activate it if he wants to leave the team earlier.

Wolff is the supremo at Mercedes and in the past has led the team to sky-high results. However, it was a weekend to forget in Bahrain as both the drivers finished P5 and P7 just like the opening round of the last season. Wolff seemed to be disappointed with the performance of the team and how far behind they were from the leading pack. Following this, the team will be looking to solve the issues that were persistent in Bahrain. Furthermore, they would be preparing for the Saudi Arabian GP, to turn over their fortunes after a bad race last weekend.
