“Moral of the story: don’t sign with Red Bull” – Twitter fumes as AlphaTauri sacks Nyck deVries in favor of Daniel Ricciardo
Nyck deVries is being ousted from AlphaTauri because of his inability to gather the results that were expected of him.

After about half a year of being away from regular racing since the premature termination of his contract with McLaren, Daniel Ricciardo is back on the F1 grid. The Perth native, who had signed with Red Bull Racing for their third driver role is going to be seen going for the win at the rest of the races for this year starting from the Hungarian Grand Prix. Bringing in the Hobey Badger in place of Nyck deVries has apparently been a move by the executives of Red Bull who control the hirings for their sister team AlphaTauri–and fans are not happy about it.
As the team that is currently reigning on top with a massive advantage of over 200 points, Red Bull has established the fact that they only expect excellence from their drivers. While RBR golden boy Max Verstappen has cemented his seat at the Milton-Keynes outfit because of his brilliant performances, Sergio Perez seems to be struggling right now. And as Red Bull’s sister team, Scuderia AlphaTauri are also supposed to fare much better than how they have performed in the first ten races of this season.
With only 2 points in total, AlphaTauri are in the bottomest position in the Championship Standings, and the Red Bull execs have deemed new recruit Nyck deVries as the person to blame. Formula 2 and Formula E Champion deVries came into F1 at the start of this year with lots of promises and expectations to live up to, but Red Bull have pulled off another one of the same stunt as they did with Pierre Gasly and Daniil Kvyat–they have kicked the 28-year-old Dutchman out mid-season.

Fans are unhappy with how Red Bull dealt with Nyck deVries’ situation

Red Bull racer Max Verstappen himself vouched for countryman and close friend deVries when he was about to make his Formula 1 entry. But now, the team has ousted Nyck in favor of Daniel Ricciardo. The Australian was only biding his time in the reserve driver role, waiting to pounce on an opportunity to be back to regular racing, and now he has it. Ricciardo’s innumerous fans are naturally happy about the news.
But, while people are rejoicing Daniel Ricciardo’s return, they are also bashing Red Bull for simply eliminating Nyck deVries and not even giving him the opportunity to race for a full season.
While Daniel Ricciardo will be returning to the grid with huge expectations to live up to, the Honey Badger will definitely face some problems early on. After a long break, he got back on the tracks after the Silverstone GP, taking the Red Bull RB-19 out for a drive, and he spun out. Ricciardo’s soon-to-be teammate Yuki Tsunoda is also a powerful racer who will leave no stones unturned to outshine the veteran in the same car. Now, it remains to be seen how the eight-time Grand Prix winner handles these challenges and attempts to impress all in his new team.
