Ever since 2007, Scuderia Ferrari, despite being the most successful and oldest team in Formula 1, have not seen their any of their drivers take the F1 World Championship win. And it has been a long 15 years since the Maranello outfit has given their fans–the Tifosis–a reason to celebrate a Constructors’ Championship win as well. Going by these disappointing statistics, the time is ripe for Ferrari to go back to their winning ways and proving it to their followers as well as their critics that their line-up of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz is a successful one.

Unfortunately, Ferrari have failed time and again in their attempt to seek a World Championship. When Charles Leclerc has debuted with the team back in 2018, the Tifosis had been hopeful for a Scuderia Championship but it has not come yet. In fact, Charles had a very mediocre season last year as he could not even make it into the top 3 in the World Drivers’ Championship Standings. The Monegasque tied with Fernando Alonso as both had 206 points, but Leclerc’s podium finishes are less than Alonso’s.

Now, most fans would think Charles Leclerc is being pressurized by his team to perform up to the expectations of the Tifosis in the upcoming 2024 F1 season. But it has turned out that Ferrari have gifted Charles a special sports car–the Ferrari 812 Competizione A. He was previously spotted driving the new car around the streets of Monaco, and recently he went to the garage to get its new number plate that started with ‘C’ to refer to Charles’ initials.

Felipe Massa recently spoke about Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz being a good pair for Ferrari

Ferrari have gone a long time without a single Grand Prix win from Charles Leclerc. And although Carlos Sainz scored the only non-Red Bull race victory last season, the Spaniard has shown some inconsistencies at last year’s races which have held him back from outscoring his teammate. While both of the Scuderia drivers have their own flaws, former Ferrari racer and 2008 F1 World Championship runner-up Felipe Massa feels the driver line-up is not the problem with Ferrari.

Massa recently talked about Ferrari needing to switch some key things about their team so that they can go back to their winning ways. And he also said that this does not have anything to do with their line-up since the Scuderia already have two competitive and talented drivers. Now, it remains to be seen if the Italian manufacturers are able to heed Massa’s opinions and bring some radical changes in their team as well as their car next season or if they fail to surpass their rivals like Red Bull and Mercedes once again.
