WATCH: Charles Leclerc invites some unusual guests to try out his simulator during an F1 stream
Charles Leclerc has talked about the new guests whom he invited over to his house during one of his Twitch streaming sessions.
Formula 1 drivers have a busy life when it is a Grand Prix weekend and they have to practice their runs before the Main Race to put their best foot forward. And one might think they are always so occupied with their racing career that they hardly get any time to socialize. But Ferrari racer Charles Leclerc has proven this wrong as he introduced his fans to his ‘little guests’.
Most of the times when the F1 racers are away from the tracks, they hone their skills on their simulators. Now, it is a known fact that Charles Leclerc has a hugely expensive simulator setup at his home in Monaco, with South China Morning Post claiming that the Ferrari racer has a Playseat Formula Intelligence machine worth US $2,500 for F1 sim racing with a Fanatec Podium Racing Wheel and a ClubSport Steering Wheel and two giant Samsung ultra-wide monitors. When Charles was streaming one of his racing sessions with George Russell and Lando Norris, he decided to call his young neighbors over to try out his sim setup.
Speaking to his stream fans while swerving through the all-too-familiar racing circuit in his simulated car, Charles Leclerc revealed he had some guests with him. The 25-year-old racer said, “There were two children that are living in the same building as me. They are great fans and they wanted to come and try the simulator. So I invited them.”
Charles Leclerc’s famous F1 streams have made him a part of the Twitch Quartet
Charles Leclerc’s ventures with his sim set went on to become a topic of discussion on F1 Twitter during the COVID-19 lockdown. Along with his friends and colleagues Lando Norris, George Russell, and Alex Albon, the Scuderia Ferrari recruit came to be known as the Twitch Quartet as their streams gathered a large audience. And the funny moments that take place during the sim racing sessions go viral on social media almost instantly.
Only a few days ago, Charles was streaming with his brother Arthur Leclerc when the newly announced F2 driver called it a day and said he wants to go sleep. And then Arthur’s elder brother pulled his leg, saying, “He’s seeing a girl, he’s seeing a girl! Sleeping at 10? Honestly, are you a chicken or what?“
Besides his thriving streaming career, Charles Leclerc fell short of tasting some sweet victory at the Canada GP. The Ferrari driver finished fourth behind his heavyweight opponents Max Verstappen, Fernando Alonso, and Lewis Hamilton–still, this is a hopeful result for his team after the Monegasque failed to make it into the top 5 at Spain, Monaco, and even Miami. Now, it remains to be seen if Leclerc manages to retain this form for the upcoming race in Austria or if he falters once again.
