The Singapore GP has been a surprising affair for Red Bull. The reigning world champions have fallen far behind their rivals this weekend, with Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez failing to qualify in the Top 10. Verstappen faced immense competition during the race, with his arch-rival Lewis Hamilton making a swift pass on the two-time world champion.
Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez did not pit under the Safety Car on Lap 20 after Logan Sargeant had an incident. As such, the two-time world champion drove on older tires than Hamilton, who was on a fresh set of hards. The Mercedes driver had the pace advantage over his old rival as the two went wheel-to-wheel in Singapore.
Lewis Hamilton quickly moved on to the defending world champion and gained a position. Certainly, it was a surprise for viewers to witness a Red Bull RB-19 getting overtaken so easily by a Mercedes this season. Although, Verstappen was aware that it was not worth fighting the British driver. Subsequently, the Dutchman did not attempt to save track position.

Fans appreciate Lewis Hamilton’s move on Max Verstappen at the Singapore GP
Fans on Twitter quickly shared their views on this overtake. One user mentioned that they had prayed to witness a time when Lewis Hamilton would overtake Max Verstappen once again. The user said, “I used to pray for times like this.” At the same time, another fan believed that the seven-time champion was back in business. The fan wrote, “We are back like we never left.”
Moreover, one fan was glad to see the Mercedes driver swiftly move on Verstappen despite being in a much slower car. The fan replied, “Owned Verstappen in a slower car.” However, another user pointed out that the ease in the overtake was because of Max Verstappen’s much older tires. The user commented, “Brand new tyres vs 25 lap old tyres.”

That reg tidy up has ruined the Red Bull
Max Verstappen further fell down the order after being passed by Lewis Hamilton. The Dutch driver continued to struggle with an old set of hard tires on his first stint. On the other hand, Hamilton tried to close up with the cars ahead. Nevertheless, the Singapore GP has been an alarming race for Red Bull, with the Austrian team failing to stay in the competition.
