WATCH: Lewis Hamilton enjoys F1 summer break teaching Roscoe to share his fruits
Lewis Hamilton has shared an adorable video of Roscoe sharing his strawberries with the seven-time World Champion from Mercedes.
It has been a long stretch of twelve races filled with neck and neck competition amongst the fastest drivers in the world. Now, the F1 circus has gone into a three-week-long summer break. After the Belgian Grand Prix, most of the racers headed towards their home to spend some time away from the paddocks before getting back in the cockpits of their cars for the Dutch GP. But keeping the beloved fans up to date on how their days are going, the F1 stars have been quite active on social media–except for Lewis Hamilton.
Having ended the initial part of the F1 2023 season with a fairly impressive P4 position in Spa, Lewis Hamilton went completely off the grid during the first week of the summer break. The Mercedes racer has dealt with a lot of challenges already as their W14 is not competent enough to fight against the mighty Red Bull RB-19. Still, Lewis has managed to garner four podiums from the Grands Prix that have been held till now.
As the initial part of the season has been quite hectic for Lewis Hamilton, fans were curious about what he is up to now that it is the summer break. Finally, Lewis returned to his Instagram handle to share a picture from his vacation days. And then, a video of the seven-time World Champion spending some quality time with his beloved pet Roscoe. In the video, the Briton was seen popping pieces of watermelon into his mouth, and also sharing some with Roscoe.
Lewis Hamilton’s vegan bulldog Roscoe has become an internet celebrity
With almost a million followers on Instagram, Roscoe Hamilton is no less than an influencer now. The bulldog was adopted by Lewis in 2013. During one of his interviews, Lewis Hamilton said, “Roscoe is now part of a modelling agency and he has auditions, he will go up against ten or 15 different bulldogs, they will need a bulldog for a product. He gets paid $700 dollars a day, it’s ridiculous, and he gets his treat, he loves it.” He was last seen doing a cameo at the British GP by appearing at the Silverstone circuit.
While Lewis Hamilton seems to be enjoying his summer break as of now, his contract with Mercedes is nearing it end. Toto Wolff has promised all the fans he is doing everything to try and keep the Briton in their Stuttgart squad. But it has been reported that Lewis has demanded £250 million per year as his salary, and Mercedes do not want to agree to such a large amount. It only remains to be seen how the situation turns out, although Toto has assured that a contract renewal with Lewis has been ’emotionally signed’.
