WATCH: Martin Brundle ditches Lewis Hamilton and picks Max Verstappen as the driver he would like to have a beer with
Sky F1 presenter Martin Brundle has shocked the fans with his recent statement on Max Verstappen on the grid walk.

Lewis Hamilton, Martin Brundle and Max Verstappen
Martin Brundle is known for his famous grid walks before the race where he goes on talking about the sport while telling some interesting background stories. In the midst of that, the Brit also goes and interviews celebrities who have come to watch the race and are on the track before the formation lap. In an interesting turn of events, his comments at yesterday’s race were a bit shocking.
On his pre race rituals, Martin Brundle went on to give his honest take on Verstappen and his overall nature. “Of all the drivers on the grid he [Max Verstappen] is the one I want to go out for a beer with, cause I find him extremely straightforward and honest lad to be honest,” the British commentator stated. Surprisingly, Max isn’t on many critics’s lists to go have a beer with and this one was pretty surprising.
British bias still seems to be a concept that exists in the pinnacle of motorsport. For example, many commentators such as Martin Brundle can be seen favouring Lewis Hamilton and other British drivers such as Lando Norris and George Russell over others. Fernando Alonso was also once vocal about the bias. This is why Martin preferring to have a beer with Max was a bit unusual.
Max Verstappen went on to absolutely dominate at Silverstone

The British Grand Prix weekend went exactly as Max Verstappen wanted it to be. His string of domination with Red Bull continued this weekend as he went on to get pole position for the fifth consecutive time this season. With the McLaren duo of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri qualifying second and third, it was a sure shot possibility that Sunday’s race was going to be epic.
After an interesting start, Lando Norris got past Max Verstappen who had released the clutch too early. The McLaren’s were strong all weekend and especially during the race. In the end, Max emerged victorious at Silverstone yet again and claimed his second win on the track. If Max goes on to finish p2 in every race ahead this season, he will clinch the championship.
