The Las Vegas GP weekend is underway. Formula 1 has invested over half a billion dollars in the highly-anticipated Vegas race. The inaugural race on the iconic Sin City Strip has attracted many celebrities to the paddock this weekend. Basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal or Shaq was spotted on the grid before the start of the race.
Sky Sports F1 posted a clip on X, where Martin Brundle spotted Shaq with the Red Bull pit crew on his grid walk. The 51-year-old was taking pictures with the Austrian team before the start of the race. Brundle had to wait for the Basketball icon to talk to him. Moreover, Shaquille O’Neal got a picture clicked with Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner.
As Shaq left the Red Bull crew, Brundle pointed the mic towards the 51-year-old. The Basketball star had only a few words to say. He said, “Lewis Hamilton Baby.” The Sky F1 Presenter was baffled to hear these words. As Shaquille O’Neal had just greeted Lewis Hamilton’s biggest rivals on the grid. Certainly, an amusing incident for fans.

Lewis Hamilton having a difficult weekend at Las Vegas GP
Lewis Hamilton might have the support of Shaq this weekend. However, the seven-time world champion has struggled during the Las Vegas GP weekend. The British driver failed to make it out of Q2 in Qualifying. Subsequently, the 38-year-old started the race from P10 after Carlos Sainz‘s grid penalty.

The seven-time world champion does not have high expectations for the main race due to Mercedes’ deficit to Red Bull and Ferrari. However, the seven-time world champion would be looking to make up some places in the race. Hamilton’s friends including Shaq are cheering for the British driver to succeed this weekend.
On the other hand, Red Bull and Ferrari are battling it out for the win this weekend. Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc are the favorites for the inaugural Vegas race as they started from the front row. However, it remains to be seen if the first-ever Las Vegas GP could pack in some surprises in the race.
