“We are struggling to cope,” Carlos Sainz raises voice against porpoising
Carlos Sainz is confident that victory will not evade him very long.
Carlos Sainz who came away from Azerbaijan with yet another DNF to his name has recently talked about the porpoising issue that is hampering almost every team on the 2022 F1 grid.
The Spaniard in blatant terms has indicated that he is literally fed up with the bouncing that takes place on long straights and feels that the drivers can’t keep carrying on like this for the rest of the season.
Sainz has urged the FIA to take definitive decisions regarding the issue and has said, “We have kindly asked the FIA to look at it and not listen so much to the teams, but to us.”
“We are saying that it is getting to a point where we are struggling to cope.”
Carlos Sainz is not a fan of the low downforce running cars and has suggested that the engineers at Ferrari have found a solution around the suspension area that could help in reducing the bouncing, but has emphasized the need for FIA to act.
Sainz is not the only driver who has complained about porpoising this season as there are many others who are not happy with it and want FIA to take action.

Like Carlos Sainz, George Russell has also talked against the porpoising issue
While Carlos Sainz is the latest one to join the list when it comes to speaking against porpoising, there have been drivers like George Russell, Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen, and Pierre Gasly who have already labeled the porpoising as a major issue.
Porpoising was there to see for everyone during the Azerbaijan Grand Prix and many drivers were seen complaining on their respective team radios about how uncomfortable the ride was on the straights.
While the younger drivers were somehow able to get on with the challenge, Lewis Hamilton who is 37 years old, struggled during the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
Hamilton’s back was giving him a lot of trouble on the Baku straights and the former 7-time World Champion was heard on the radio saying “My back is killing me guys.”
Given what has been said by Carlos regarding finding a solution for the problem, the FIA should at least have a look at what Ferrari is proposing to reduce the severity of the bouncing that has caught everyone off guard.
