The 2023 Formula 1 season has belonged to the Red Bull Formula 1 team. The Austrian outfit secured the Constructors Championship at the Japanese Grand Prix, and the runaway leader, Max Verstappen, could wrap up the Drivers title in October at the Qatar Grand Prix sprint event. There is a decent mathematical chance of Verstappen winning the coveted title at the Lusail International Circuit.

Max Verstappen has managed 400 points in 17 Grand Prix events and has taken his tally to a mighty 400 at the top of the Drivers Championship standings. Sergio Perez suffered a double DNF in Japan, making Verstappen’s job easier. As things stand, he has 177 points over his teammate, with only six races remaining in the season.

October’s event at the Lusail International Circuit is a Sprint weekend where more points would be offered compared to the normal F1 weekends. However, despite this fact, Verstappen has a golden chance of wrapping up the title. Even if Perez were to win all the remaining six races, he would only score 156 points, and Verstappen would have to endure six DNFs.

This is a highly unlikely possibility, and considering this, the reigning F1 World Championship could see himself secure his third F1 title at the 2023 Qatar GP. Max Verstappen has been nothing short of sensational this year, and a third consecutive title would be much deserved if it happens to be the case during next month’s event under the scortching heat of Qatar.

Max Verstappen has dominated Formula 1 since 2022

While Max Verstappen is in touching distance of securing the 2023 Formula 1 World Championship, he has been in menacing form, especially since the 2022 season of the sport. He was able to triumph in the 2021 season by the skin of his teeth, but since then, none of his rivals have been able to pose a potent challenge in front of him.

Red Bull nailed the new F1 regulations that are currently in play, and the way the team has outperformed everyone in car development, this year, the future looks bright for Verstappen and Co. The new F1 regulation will stay in effect until the end of the 2025 season of the sport. Until that time, the Dutchman has pretty much got the whole world at his feet.

Only five drivers have won races since the start of the 2022 season. Mercedes’ George Russell has scored one win while Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz has won twice. Charles Leclerc has won three races, while Red Bull’s Perez has won four events. The Dutchman has won the remaining 28 races out of the 38 he started.

Moreover, Max Verstappen has age on his side as he is only 25 years old and is seen by several pundits as the driver who could break Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher‘s joint 7 World Championships record. He has all the skills in his humongous arsenal, and every year, he is only getting better and better in his craft.
