“When you drink too much…”: Twitter explodes with hilarious comments as podium winners’ graphic goes horribly wrong in Austrian GP

The Austrian GP was indeed a thrilling affair as Scuderia Ferrari, the most successful and oldest team in Formula 1, lost out on a guaranteed 1-2 finish in Red Bull‘s backyard just because of some flaws in their team strategy. While Charles Leclerc finally came out as the Champion in Austria, his teammate Carlos Sainz succumbed to the fourth Ferrari mechanical problem of this season and had to retire from the race. Then, Red Bull’s Max Verstappen came third with Lewis Hamilton and Esteban Ocon finishing the top 5 spots.

But the real twist came when the podium winners were shown on the TV during the awards ceremony that customarily follows the race. During the program, fans quickly pointed out that the names that were being displayed on live television below the podium winners were all wrong, and even their teams were not mentioned correctly. F1 Twitter exploded with hilarious tweets from the fans who questioned if the F1 graphics artist was drunk on too many Red Bulls!

Some of the fans were taken aback by the names that were displayed beneath the podium winners as Sergio Perez was shown as the race winner, even though the Red Bull racer could never finish his race in the Austrian GP because of damage to his car. Then, fans spotted Carlos Sainz’s name being shown below Max Verstappen’s stand on the podium, but sadly, Carlos, too, lost out on a podium finish in the race due to a late DNF.

And while Lewis Hamilton got the third spot in the Austrian GP, Max Verstappen’s name was shown in his place, and the fans were amused by this error as the team names and the driver names were all wrong!

Here is what the fans had to say about the whole mistake in the Austrian GP:
