Charles Leclerc has been part of Scuderia Ferrari since 2019, he initially started along with Sebastian Vettel, but now is no less than a number one driver. With 4 Grand Prix victories with himself, he is one of the championship contenders this year, along with Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez, both in their amazing Red Bull RB18s.This year, the Scuderia made their return to the podium with the very amazing F1-75. Ferrari even had a hold on the lead of the championship at the start of this season, but as it has passed by, poor pit strategies and unwanted engine failures have made Red Bull takeover the lead.

Charles Leclerc is Ferrari’s first hope of winning a championship, and the last time he was on the podium was in Miami. Although the odds looked as if he was to be on the podium in Silverstone again, it sadly did not happen, as Ferrari had a bad pit strategy under the safety car, again. During the safety car, only Carlos Sainz was called into the pits, he got the softs, including Hamilton and Perez, but Leclerc was left battling on the hards, which made him lose the podium. David Tremayne, a F1 journalist stated that Ferrari must give Charles the priority or else they could lose the championship.

Although Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz won the race, they could have gained much more points if they had used the right strategy and called Charles in for the tyre change. Tremayne had the same to say for the Scuderia. “Ferrari still won the race, of course, but losing the chance for your lead driver to score 14 more points doesn’t strike me as the best way to fight opponents as fearsome as Max and Red Bull,” GPBlog quoted David.

Red Bull have an amazing lead over Ferrari as they lead the constructor’s championship with 328 points, and Ferrari only have 265 in their bag. Max Verstappen stands with a 43 point lead over Leclerc.
