The Ferrari camp was the talk of the paddock during the build-up to the Saudi Arabia GP qualifying session. Carlos Sainz was replaced by a young Ollie Bearman, as the Spaniard couldn’t participate due to his surgery. However, eyes around the paddock were centered on Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who was in the Ferrari garage during qualifying.
The Swedish soccer player who was spotted during qualifying could be seen in the garage of the Maranello-based team. Subsequently, Ibrahimovic is a famous player in the European leagues and has amassed over 34 trophies during his career.
However, he retired last year after his match with AC Milan and said goodbye to the sport.
The Scuderia was in trouble after their Spanish driver was ousted from the Saudi Arabian GP as he had surgery scheduled. However, this might hamper Sainz’s momentum and cost him vital championship points in his bid for the top spots.
How did the Ferraris qualify for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix?
After a sudden switch in the driver pairing, the team was on the back foot ahead of qualifying. However, the team seemed optimistic about the grid position of their drivers after the completion of qualifying at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit.
Charles Leclerc secured another front row in succession after the Bahrain GP as he was just a few tenths behind Max Verstappen. On the other hand, Bearman had a good qualifying as he finished P11. This is quite impressive considering the young Brit only had 60 minutes of driving experience with the SF-24.
Despite the Dutchman securing the pole position on the grid, the Italian team seemed happy and content with the result they achieved. Now, the Tifosi would be looking toward tomorrow’s 50-lap Saudi Arabian GP. They would be hoping for a miracle as the dominant Red Bulls are not showing any signs of slowing down.
