Lando Norris has found himself as a title contender for the first time in his racing career. The British driver needs to keep performing under pressure if he wants to defeat Max Verstappen. Now, 2016 F1 world champion Nico Rosberg has suggested that Norris should seek professional help.
Over the past few weeks, Lando Norris has been self critical over his results. The McLaren driver even claimed that he didn’t have what it takes to be a world champion. Nico Rosberg claimed that sports psychologists would tell patients that one believes what they say when they’re being harsh on themselves.
They [sports psychologists] will tell you that you really start to believe what you say.Nico Rosberg told Sky Sports F1
Subsequently, Rosberg texted Norris to tell him about his own experience. The former world champion had taken help during his battle against Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes. As such, Nico Rosberg hopes that Lando Norris takes a step and understands that he needs to stop being less critical.
And that's why I wrote Lando a DM because I thought that my experience could be interesting for him because I've been through all that.Nico Rosberg explained
Nico Rosberg claims Lando Norris needs to stop being pessimistic
Rosberg claimed that for Lando Norris, the glass was always half empty rather than half full, signaling that the Briton was a pessimist. The German clarified that being authentic was lovely. However, Norris needs to stay authentic and focus on the glass being half full instead.
For him, the glass is always half empty rather than half full. He's very authentic, which, of course, is lovely, but you can be authentic and be glass half full rather than half empty.Nico Rosberg stated
Certainly, Lando Norris has a lot of work to do regarding his self confidence. The British driver needs to understand that he cannot win the pinnacle of motorsport if he does not believe in himself. Fans would hope that Norris takes Rosberg’s advice soon.
