McLaren driver Oscar Piastri paced marvelously around the Interlagos circuit to clench the Sprint pole position on Friday. Lando Norris followed Piastri to make it a front-row lockout for the Woking-based McLaren F1 team.

Oscar Piastri has proved his worth as a top driver in only his second ever Formula 1 season. He has won twice this year and secured seven podiums so far. However, it is his teammate Lando Norris who is currently the prime challenger for the drivers’ championship this season.

Piastri has since revealed that the Papayas main objective is to secure a 1-2 finish in the Sprint race. The 23-year-old and his teammate also expect that team orders might be deployed to boost the team’s title hopes.

We will see what the pace is like for both of us. First and second is the main objective. I know I’m not in the running for the drivers. So, we’ll see.

Oscar Piastri said after the Sprint race at Interlagos

The duo has helped the Woking-based team take the lead of the constructors’ championship in over a decade. If they manage to keep up with their form, McLaren might finally win the title for the first time since 1998.

Andrea Stella claims that McLaren trusts the stewards ahead of Brazilian GP

McLaren team principal Andrea Stella has shared his thoughts regarding the FIA ahead of the Brazilian GP. The governing body has penalized drivers’ and teams strongly for their offences throughout this season.

We race fair, we race in a correct way, we race in a sportsman-like way. And then ultimately, in this kind of close fights, there’s a third party that is the stewarding. We trust the stewarding. I think in Mexico this worked very well and we had good racing.

Andrea Stella has reiterated his team’s approach to race in a fair and correct manner regardless of the challenges. He then vested his trust in the stewards to make the correct decisions for any wrongdoings against them on track.

The Papayas were critical of the stewards’ decision at the Austrian and United States GP this season. Then came the race in Mexico, where Max Verstappen got penalized for blocking Lando Norris’ overtake attempt. The FIA’s reprimand against Verstappen has since vitalized the Papayas’ idea towards them.
