Sergio Perez has made it clear that he isn’t worried about his future, even though Red Bull’s Christian Horner suggested the team might need to rethink his role after a difficult weekend. Perez had a tough race at the Mexican GP starting in 18th place and getting a five-second penalty early on for misplacing his car in the grid slot.

This sparked rumors about his replacement after the Mexican GP. The Mexican driver has been facing a series of performance slumps since the Chinese GP where he encountered several issues with the car that hindered his performance.

Red Bull thought it was just a one-off and Sergio Perez would bounce back in the next few races. The Austrian team even renewed his contract to increase his morale, which was, however, ineffective.

After failing even in Mexico his future has drawn huge speculation of him being sacked even before the season ends. Perez claimed that the media who is drawing such speculation must act more professionally as he believes they’re spreading false information.

I think there needs to be a little bit more professionalism as well from the media. The ones that will lose credibility are the ones spreading those rumours at the end of the day because you will see me in Vegas, you will see me next year.

Red Bull had a tough Mexico GP after Sergio Perez’s race was ruined by a crash with Liam Lawson. Max Verstappen also faced strategy issues, which led to a disappointing result for the team.

Looking ahead to Brazil, Red Bull knows they need to get things right, especially during qualifying and at the start of the race. Perez mentioned that while the team has identified braking and balance issues, they haven’t figured out the solutions yet.

I really hope that we can be in the mix here. We understood a few of the issues, but it’s just not very clear how we’re going to solve them.
