“Perez is finished” – Fans furious as Sergio Perez gets knocked out once again in Q1 during Monaco GP Qualifying

The Red Bull F1 team has been the team to beat this season, and Max Verstappen has been the driver to chase! However, his teammate has not had a great start in the European leg as for two rounds in a row, Sergio Perez has not been able to make it in Q3. Moreover, the Mexican could not even make the cut in Monaco qualifying Q1, which fans have not spared him for.

Sergio Perez is often regarded as the ‘King of the Streets,’ with his impressive performances on street circuits. However, this trend has not been observed this year as the Mexican has been unable to challenge Max Verstappen consistently. This was subsequently witnessed in the recent Monaco GP qualifying as the 34-year-old was almost two-tenths behind the time required to make it into Q2.

Seeing Perez’s constant struggles, fans feel that his time in F1 is coming to an end.

Fans ranted about the Mexican’s subpar qualifying performance at a track where he has been a former winner. Furthermore, fans even commented about Red Bull hiring the free agent, Carlos Sainz for the next season, bringing back not-so-fond memories from Emilia Romagna GP weekend.

Lando Norris takes a dig at Sergio Perez

While fans lamented Perez’s inferior performances and urged Red Bull to hire Sainz, even the F1 drivers have recently joined in. They compared the Mexican’s ability against his teammate and took a dig at his helpless situation.

Subsequently, Lando Norris took a dig at Perez’s performances and stated that F1 is a team business.

You have one guy who has put in a mega lap and has a good race and then the other one not so much. One of our strengths is that we’ve always had two cars up there and we can fight well along with Ferrari at the minute. So if we keep doing that, then yeah, for sure we can stay in it.

The Brit elucidated that at Red Bull, only the Dutchman has been leading from the front. However, teams like Ferrari and McLaren had both their drivers in the fight for the top spots, which always helps in the constructor’s standings. The luxury that the Austrian squad does not have.

Despite such takebacks, the Mexican has been known for his impressive comebacks in Monaco. Thus, fans could expect a great race around the principality somewhat reminiscent of the previous years.
